Brighouse Boundary Walk: from Shibden to Elland Lower Edge

This is the route that I took on Sunday August 15th 2021 when walking the Brighouse Boundary Walk from Shibden to Elland Lower Edge. It is 8.9K long.

	As soon as I arrive at the start of today's walk there's a Halifax to Leeds train on the railway line alongside the road where I've got off the bus. 	Gloom No 1: my route along a public right of way (that's a Footpath) that is at the start of today's walk along the BBW seems no longer to exist. I reckon it used to cross the railway line at this point. 	Although Google Maps suggests going East to cross, looking at the map it lts quicker go West. So I go along the A58 and then down A road Called Break Neck. At the start it's marked as a "No Through Road" which is not encouraging. However, the map on Google Maps says it carries on. The reason it's a NTR is that it surface degenerates into a track. 	I then walk East along Hlaifax Olr Road to a point where I rejoin the BSW. This poor photo shows the track ahead together with a post on the left that has a Footpath sign, a BBW sign and two A4 laminated sheets. 	The first A4 sheet gives the date of the termination order of the footpath I wanted to use as 2019. 	I saw lots of this flower yesterday. I had to look it up using my plantnet app to find out it's Himalayan Balsam. 	Like yesterday, there is lots of it around. 	Unfortunately my walk through the Himalayan Balsams has put water droplets onto the filter on my camera which is apparent on this photo and on many of the ones after. At this int the BBW stops going South - instead it goes West for several K then due South and then due East for several K before turning S again. I wonder why this is. 	But the BBW goes South. Gloom 2: the path ahead has brambles and a few stinging nettles which hurt my legs as I'm wearing shorts. 	There's a hidden turn to the right. So after its diversion to the East, the BBW now returns to going South. I think this diversion was so it could tkae in the Magna Via - it's a good excuse. 	Immediately after starting to take the path South there's a hidden sign saying that I'm on the BBW. 	Gloom 3: the route of the BBW has been changed - because of a quarry it no longer goes South at this point. 	Just after this house there's a footpath that goes left and a bridleway that goes right. The house owner says they go to the same place but the bridleway is easier. The BBW chooses the footpath! 	Gloom 4: the path is far too overgrown for me to use. Panic as the path crosses the River Calder and river crossings are few and far between. One of may maps seems to indicate that I can go through an industrial estate to rejoin the path before it reaches the Calder. And this is what I do.
