The CDW then gets to a village called Soyland Town. It's all been uphill from Ripponden until now with Ripponden at 140m and Soyland Town at 220m. That's 80m in about 1.5K. It's downhill from here to the next village which is Lower Mill Bank and then it's up again!
The CDW logo indicates the route is down this footpath. That's a bit of a shortcut to the route given in the GPX file.

At this point, the CDW reaches a lane. The route of the CDW according to the GPX file is to the left and then along a public right of way but when I try that I start to walk through someone's garden. So I return to this point and instead of going left I go right which will get me to the same place. When I reach the other end of the route through the person's garden it's marked as a private footpath. Never mind. Onward!

This is a cross roads. The CDW goes straight on along a road called Coppy Nook Lane. To the left is New Road. About 1K down New Road is Craggies Farm Shop that has food including all day breakfast for £8.95. It also sells beer from Vocation Brewery which is next door. Also next door is Little Valley Brewery. Although I've done my homework! I'll press on as there's a bus to catch! Amazingly the pub I go to later today is selling Vocation Brewery's Bread and Butter beer - I enjoy a half.

I've now reached Cragg Vale. The CDW is now at 190m having descended from today's high point of 365m in the last 1.9K.
There's "bus stop" painted on the road ahead. That's where my bus back to Huddersfield leaves from. It's good timing as there's a bus leaving in 15 minutes whereas the one after that would be 70 minutes later.
That's the end of Day 2's walk along the CDW. It's taken me 2h50m to walk 8.9K from Ripponden to Cragg Vale - the bus back to Huddersfield takes 0h18m to do the 13.4K back to Ripponden!
