Colne Valley Circular: from Milnbridge to Marsden

This is the route that I took on Wednesday August 18th 2021 when walking the Colne Valley Circular from Milnbridge to Marsden. It is 13.6K long.

KML for the above route as a line
KML for the above route as a series of points

On the above map the bit from Marsden Railway Station back to Huddersfield at the end needs to be removed as I didn't stop the GPS tracking until I was back in my hotel room!

Here are some photos I took. If you want to see a photo in hi-res, click on it.

Today's walk does the southern half of the Colne Valley Circular. It started badly. I caught a bus to Golcar which I later found out doesn't go there with no indication from anyone or any bus display to say it only went as far as Milnbridge. When I got to Milnbridge and the bus started to go back to Huddersfield I moaned to the bus driver who said the roads were being maintained and they are unable to go there - you'll have to walk. Looking at Google Maps that's about 30 minutes! Grhh!! So today I started walking in Milnbridge.

They haven't had any problems with shallow water until they reached the pound above this lock. The two people in the foregound that are from the Canal and River Trust managed to sort out getting them water.
