Kirklees Way: from Scholes to Birstall (between Bradford and Cleckheaton)

This is the route that I took on Sunday December 22nd 2019 when walking the Kirklees Way from Scholes to Birstall (between Bradford and Cleckheaton).

Here are some photos I took. If you want to see a photo in hi-res, click on it.

It's a crazy start to Day 3. I aim for the 363 bus to Baliff Bridge that goes at 0804. As I get to the bus stop, I see a 363 going the other way, i.e., going to Huddersfield. However at my bus stop the timetable says there isn't a 363 to Baliff Bridge at 0804 - they stop running at 0710. And there's no real time display to help me. I got my bus times from Google Maps - it looks like Google Maps has got it wrong. I cross the road and check the timetable for 363 buses into Huddersfield and the bus I saw is not timetabled. Puzzling. A 311 comes along. The bus driver says catch a 363 or an X63. I say there's no 363 timetabled and the X63 goes by a different route from H to BB. He says get on board and I'll take to the X63 stop. Although I profer my credit card, he gives me a lift to Fartown where I can catch an X63. When I get to the bus stop in Fartown the real time display says there's a 363 in 3 minutes. I overhear a conversation as we board the 363 - the guy says it's a Saturday timetable today. I check the timetable at the bus stop and yes there is a 363 at about this time on a Saturday but it's late. Although it was late I manage to get to Baliff Bridge in time for my second bus, a bus to Scholes. What I should have checked is whether these buses are free with my bus pass if it's a Saturday - instead I paid £3.29 + £2.90 - and may be a day rider would have been cheaper.
So I start Day 3 of walkign the KW by returning to the Church of St Philip & St James in Scholes.
