Kirklees Way: from Marsden to Moorside Edge (via Scammonden Water)

This is the route that I took on Wednesday January 1st 2020 when walking the Kirklees Way from Marsden to Moorside Edge (via Scammonden Water). It is 13.5K long.

Day 10 of my walk along the KW starts in Marsden. As there are no buses on New Year's Day, I'm relying on trains today. I get off the train at Marsden railway station. Here's a view looking Westwards of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and the railway line to Manchester.

I get to a T-junction with a road. I go right up the road. It has come from Scammonden Water. As I walk up it, I see a waymarked path come in from the right - so if I had gone right of the barn I would have come out onto the road using that path. Or, if I'd gone straight on when the KW waymark told me to, I would have had a a nice comfy track to the side of Scammonden Water which then leads to this road.
