Kirklees Way: from Moorside Edge to Birchencliffe

This is the route that I took on Thursday January 2nd 2020 when walking the Kirklees Way from Moorside Edge to Birchencliffe. It is 11.8K long.

	It's day 13, the final day of my walk along the KW. I've arrived at Slaithwaite railway station early as I'm going home later today. 	Although most of the way from Slaithwaite to the KW is on tarmac, the last K or so is along a footpath. As the path I took yesterday to get from the KW to the tarmac was hard work, this morning I've chosen to walk a bit more tarmac and then take a different path - as you can see it's easy terrain to walk along this path. 	Although there's bright sunshine, there's a strong wind that's perishing cold. Same weather as last Monday when I was walking from Jackson Bridge to Holme. 	Unless you zoom in on the hi-res version you won't see the housing estates of suburbs of Huddersfield that are in the distance. 	This is Outlane golf course although it doesn't seem to have any tees on the bit that I'm crossing. 	So back to the M62. Looking to the NorthEast, this is junction 24. 	My guess is that not long ago this was off-road, but these days it's tarmac between an industrial estate and a new housing estate. 	At the end of that "path", the KW goes left up this road before going right. As you can see it's another new housing estate. 	In the distance on the left is the stadium that the Town play at. They lost 0-5 to Stoke yesterday. That's Huddersfield Town. My hotel is near the tower that's this side of the stadium.
