Leeds and Liverpool: from Gargrave to Skipton

This is the route that I took on Saturday August 17th 2019 when walking the Leeds and Liverpool from Gargrave to Skipton. It is 9K long.

Here are some photos I took. If you want to see a photo in hi-res, click on it.

Today's walk is from Gargrave to Skipton which is only 5 miles - so it's a short walk today. I've looked out the Canal and River Trust's web page about stoppages and there are three sections of towpath that are closed.

I use the road that goes over bridge 172 to get to the noisy A65 and walk along that - it's not far to get to bridge 172A. Here I find the diversion map for those going towards Gargrave - it's just as bad.

It's Pendle Hill again. I last saw this near Colne. Here's a photo of the last sighting.
In the middle of the photo you can see the railway line from Skipton to Gargrave and in front of that (at the bottom of the photo) there's the River Aire.
