Birmingham and Fazeley: from Birmingham to Minworth

This is the route that I took on Tuesday July 9th 2019 when walking the Birmingham and Fazeley from Birmingham to Minworth. It is 14.1K long.

My holiday begins at Old Turn Junction in Birmingham as this is where the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal begins. On approaching Old Turn Junction, I see a boat leaving the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal.

Fazeley is at the other end of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. This sign says it's 15 miles long and has 38 locks. I plan to do the B&F during today and tomorrow.

This is the bottom lock of the Aston Locks. The bridge is familiar as it conveys the railway line from Lichfield to Birmingham, a line that I used earlier this morning.

Salford Junction is a junction of the B&F with the Tame Valley Canal to Perry Bar and the Saltley Cut to Bordesley Junction (and Digbeth). I'm off along the B&F to Minworth which the sign says is now 4M away.
