Coventry/Trent&Mersey: from North of Huddlesford to Bromley Hayes

This is the route that I took on Friday July 12th 2019 when walking the Coventry/Trent&Mersey from North of Huddlesford to Bromley Hayes. It is 10.8K long.

Fradley Junction is where the Coventry Canal ends. At this T-junction it meets the Trent and Mersey Canal.

You can go right to go South to the River Trent at Shardlow or you can go left to go North eventually finishing up at the Bridgewater Canal at Preston Brook in Cheshire. I'm going to go left as my holiday ends in a few days time at Great Haywood.

I think the plans for Phase 1 of the HS2 has it recrossing the Canal here. Those plans have it ending at a junction with the West Coast Main Line a few miles North of here. However, ...

... somewhere in this field, there will be a junction of the routes going North to the WCML for Phase 1 and going North to Crewe for Phase 2a - originally Phase 2 was going to be several years later but the bit to Crewe (Phase 2a) is now at the same time as Phase 1 and so I'm not sure whether the bit to join the WCML is now needed
