Rochdale: from Mills Hill to Rochdale

This is the route that I took on Monday July 29th 2019 when walking the Rochdale from Mills Hill to Rochdale. It is 9.1K long.

Here are some photos I took. If you want to see a photo in hi-res, click on it.

Today I'm walking from Mills Hill to Rochdale. It was a good idea not to do this yesterday. Several papers reported along the lines of "Rochdale in Greater Manchester saw 100mm of rainfall - more than a month's worth in 48 hours, according to the Met Office"..
When I get to Mills Hill, there are lots of passengers on the other platform waiting for a train. Not surprising as the 0750, 0822 and 0836 trains to Manchester Victoria have all been cancelled because of flooding. It is now 0855. Their next train to Manchester is the 0850 which I understand arrived at 0934. So some of them will be 90 minutes late.
