Rochdale: from Rochdale to Walsden

This is the route that I took on Tuesday July 30th 2019 when walking the Rochdale from Rochdale to Walsden. It is 13.3K long.

	I started from Piccadilly Basin on Route 66; I'm still on it. 	Wind farm on the hills to the West - I'm guessing these are the turbines that I saw yesterday. 	This was Birch Hill Hospital. ThisQreport in a December 2012 issue of the Manchester Evening News says "this landmark Victorian hospital will finally close its doors to patients next month, it has been announced. Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale, which was once a workhouse, will shut on January 2". 	I've found a signboard that has some information about Clegg Hall (that appeared in frame 249). 	Route 66 continues to the summit of the Rochdale Canal. 	This is Littleborough. Pearson's Guide says that Littleborough was the "western terminus of the restored section of the Rochdale Canal from 1996 until the re-opening thence to Manchester six years later". My guess is that this winding hole was the turnround point for boats from 1996 to 2002. 	Big excitement! This is the first moving boat I've seen on the Rochdale Canal since leaving Manchester. It's the "Amy" from Huddersfield. 	This is Amy slowly rising in the chamber of lock 39.
