Rochdale: from Walsden to Mytholmroyd

This is the route that I took on Wednesday July 31st 2019 when walking the Rochdale from Walsden to Mytholmroyd. It is 14.7K long.

	Today I'm starting my walk along the Rochdale Canal at lock 27 and bridge 33 in Walsden. 	"The Great Wall of Todmorden" was built to support the railway - one web page says that it took four million bricks to construct. 	Lock 19 has a bottom gate that is a guillotine gate - the lock is next to the main street (Rochdale Road) through Todmorden. 	This is not good news - the towpath is closed ahead - I think I remember reading about this in the Canal and River Trust's list of stoppages but I failed to take it in. 	I use Union Street South to start a long trek along the Halifax Road to find where I can rejoin the towpath - my route takes me pass the Todmorden Hippodrome with its separate entrances for the circle and the stalls.
