This is the route that I took on Wednesday September 12th 2018 when walking the Staffs and Worcs from Cookley to Stourport on Severn. It is 13.9K long.

Pearson's Canal Companion says "Another distant echo of bygone trading days is encountered by bridge 10A, through which a branch canal long ago led down by way of a lock into the River Stour for boats to reach Wilden Ironworks across the valley". So the bridge on the left takes the towpath across this disused branch.

This sign recommends you use the narrow locks rather than the wide beam locks in order to navigate down to the River Severn. If you go the wide route there are two wide beam locks to navigate, whereas if you take the narrow route there are two staircase each having two locks to navigate.
