I'm going to go right to have a look at the Dudley Tunnel and then I'll return here to make further progress towards Stourbridge.

The second lock is just before this disused railway viaduct. Wikipedia says "Parkhead Viaduct is a railway viaduct in Dudley, West Midlands, England. The original viaduct was a wooden structure erected in 1850 to carry the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway over Parkhead Locks on the Dudley Canal, near to the southern mouth of the Dudley Tunnel. The current brick viaduct was built in 1880 and it is believed that the original wooden structure is still encased within its successor."

This is Lock 1, the top lock, of the Delph Locks. And, although the bridge is called "Nine Locks Bridge", there are in fact 8 locks. Pearson's Canal Companion explains: "When the canal opened in 1779 there were nine locks. The top and bottom are originals, but in 1858 the present central six were built to replace seven earlier locks, traces of which can be explored to the East." There is more about this in this leaflet about the Delph Locks.
