"A 3 person relay around a 2.5M loop following the trail paths of Post Hill Woods (avoiding the big hill!)." "The challenge starts in the central 'arena' at the bottom of Post Hill, and follows the perimeter path starting towards Troydale Lane before turning up along the top of the woods, passing the top of the Post Hill. You then start the descent, turning 180 (left) after about 350m before continuing down to the marshal. Then it's a sharp right and soon a 90 deg left, out of the woods. Bear right across the grass to join the wide track and follow this for about 600m to the metal gate. Take the narrow path to the left of the gate, turn 180 deg and follow the beck side path back towards the start to hand over to your teammate." "Overall there is about 78m elevation gain." Then back to Ravenscar for those stunning sea cliff views (though you will still be sweating from the last bit and hoping for the sea wind not to blow)." "This is a multi lap event for those runners looking to run a fast 20M race, prepare for a full or half marathon. It mainly uses the same course as the South Park parkrun, although removing the infamous 'Squirrel Hill'. Starting outside the tropical bird cage…well it has  a parrot. Runners will head out past the children's play area before taking a sharp left down a slight incline before taking another left as you head towards the bandstand. Taking a right turn, takes the runners around the outskirts of the bandstand and around a cluster of trees and a sharp left before taking the left path adjacent to the river Skerne before once again turning left one last time back to the starting point."

The first runs 1 Mile, then hands over to the other, and so on until the full distance is completed. The teams race each other over 26 x 1 Mile, with every runner completing thirteen legs (other distances, number of team members or legs strictly not allowed) As the 26th mile is completed, the incoming runner is joined by their teammate for a final 'mini-lap', marked out in the general Finish area. The distance of this smaller lap is exactly half of 385 yards (or 352m) and both members of the team cover this together, ensuring correct completion of distance for all. The teams therefore race each other over a full Marathon, with each member completing an exact Half Marathon of running."

It's a superb scenic running journey around some of the best trails in Sheffield, linking up the great city's parkland and green spaces. The timed stages make up 20K of the 24.5K route. The unique format breaks the route down into bite-sized stages. Each stage has its own character. Each stage is raced, and competitors receive results for each stage as well as the combined overall result. Between stages competitors have the opportunity to relax a little, regroup with their team and friends and refocus before the next timed stage begins. The start is at The War Memorial which is situated on the seafront opposite the Spanish City. The start is about 0.5M from Churchill Playing Fields - allow about 10 minutes to stroll down to the start." Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to trail running this varied course offers something for everyone. Incorporating a great blend of terrain, you will be tackling some of the amazing trails that Kielder Forest has to offer, from the secluded Archer Cleugh Burn to the more popular Lakeside Way  multi user trail. With 320m of ascent the route provides some testing climbs and exhilarating descents. The course will be fully marked so all you need to do is follow the route and enjoy the scenery! This is a great event to bring along family and friends for spectating. With the route returning through the finish area at the  half way point there's plenty of opportunity to offer encouragement."
