"The Half starts on Abbey place, in front of Jedburgh Abbey. The route goes into the square and down the High Street before heading North along the A68, turning right up past Woodend and over the back of Riverside, then east along the A698 towards Kelso. At around 4M, there is a small detour off the main road past Crailing church; the route then continues east along the A698 towards Kelso. At around 6M, the route turns right into Eckford then loops back towards the A698 to start the return journey. Runners will travel west along the A698 towards Bonjedward then south along the A68 towards Jedburgh, to a welcoming finish on the grass by the river opposite Queen Mary's house."

Most of both of the routes is off road on tracks and bridleways in pleasant countryside and on race day will be lined with village supporters, water sprinklers and lots of cheers. Both routes finish with a lap round the playing field in sight of supporters and close to refreshments!" |

Here are the details about a previous event: 'starting from the Ullswater Pier, your journey starts with a beautiful half hour cruise aboard the Ullswater Steamer 'Raven', which takes you to the start in the hamlet of Howtown, whilst being serenaded by singer/songwriter Pete Lashley - the Ullswater Trail Races follow well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways along the lake shore, giving panoramic views of Helvellyn and the surrounding peaks, finishing in Jenkins Field, next to the Ullswater Pier - much of the course passes through ancient woodland, which will be at its autumnal best - underfoot conditions can be tricky at times, especially if wet'.
